VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE
Objective
Create a portable wind turbine which can produce power even at low wind speeds.
An aerodynamic model (here Double Multiple Streamline with variable interference factor, in short DMSV) is chosen for coding in MATLAB. The code is validated taking a reference turbine with experimental data. Then the airfoil is chosen for required purpose which can produce more lift at low wind speed. The model is developed in Creo and then fabricated. The model uses an extended arm which can be used to change the angle of attack of the wind on the blades. Hence depending on the wind conditions the blade pitch angle can be adjusted for obtaining optimum power output.
