The Hovomarine is an unmanned amphibious vehicle, which combines the capabilities of a hovercraft and a submarine. It has potentially vast applications in the field of search and rescue, recovery of space modules from the sea and maritime security.
The Smart Meter is a device which will automate collection of data from domestic electric meters. The scope also include developing a software module to provide advanced usage analytics.
Self Compacting Concrete using recycled aggregate is a research project to test usage of concrete from demolished structures to produce new concrete. As opposed to the current industry which uses such 'recycled aggregate' for pavemanet blocks and tiles, this research aims at producing concrete capable of bearing heavy loads.
As Concrete is brittle under tensile loading, its mechanical properties may be improved by randomly oriented short discrete fibres. Ductility of concrete is improved with fibre reinforced cementitious composites. To provide additional confinement to concrete, Ferrocement shell can be used. It is expected that this material will enormously modify the post ultimate behaviour and thus contributes in increasing the energy absorption capacity of structures.
Nano particles have been applied in many fields to fabricate new materials with novel functions due to their unique physical and chemical properties. It is expected that Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) containing silica nanoparticles will have better mechanical properties compared with the SCC without nano-silica. An experimental investigation will be carried out to study and record the influence of nano-silica in SCC.
Cloudsgreen.com is an online portal to generate, store and manage e-receipts. Journal entries and cash flows are updated without manual intervention, thus eliminating paper receipts altogether. This site is also extremely light-weight so that the time to load is drastically reduced.
The easiest way to communicate with the machines would be to just “talk” to them. In other words, the speech controlled devices are the easiest to work with. The team will work to develop a device which can control home appliances by the user's speech. The scope can be extended to other electrically powered devices.
