As part of the proposed internship of Mr. Sudharshan we have planned a research and
development project broadly in the area of Computational Cognitive Vision; the internship
project will be conducted most directly as part of ongoing initiatives in the Cognitive Vision
project (www.cognitive-vision.org). Here, our research primarily addresses computational vision
and human visual perception from the viewpoints of cognition, language, logic, and artificial
intelligence. Currently, the emphasis is on the integration of vision and artificial intelligence
from the viewpoint of embodied visual and visuo-locomotive perception and interaction.
The specific work-packages where Mr. Sudharshan will be involved will include programming
using C++ building on visual processing code that we have developed. Additional support tasks
will involve programming using (constraint) logic programming as part of the Prolog language.
The proposed internship project has been designed in view of the current interests, experience,
and expressed inclinations of Mr. Sudharshan in the areas of Machine Learning, Big Data and
Analytics, Signal and Image Processing.
